Let’s dive back into the past and find out where the legendary Fairlady Z car`s history took its start.  The official version is that in 1961 the then president of Nissan, Katsuji Kawamata, while in America, accidentally heard about the Broadway musical “My Fair Lady”, which was a great success.  The Fairlady’s predecessor was the Datsun Sports (S211), which enjoyed popularity after its introduction in 1959, at the Los Angeles Foreign Car Show.  And the president decided to name the car “Fairlady” in the hope that it would prove as popular as its predecessor and the musical itself.

“Our designers have done countless studies and sketches, examining each generation and what has ensured their success.  Ultimately, we decided that the All-New Z Model should travel between decades, including the future,” commented Nissan’s head of design.

We have summarized the main differences between the US and Japanese Proto Spec model specifications below:

• The US version comes without a rear trunk spoiler and the “Fairlady Z” emblem is equipped ON the trunk, while the Japanese model`s emblem is on the edge of the spoiler:

• Front and rear parking sensors are also a point of difference because the narrow Japanese streets require or even is a must-have function when parking your vehicle

And finally let’s take a closer look at what the New Model Z will surprise us with.
One of the coolest parts is the headlights, which were inspired by the unique 240ZG glass-covered headlights that no one else has ever produced.  It has a lot from the original 240Z, from the shark nose to the long fastback roof, and the oval taillights are shades of the 300ZX generation Z32.  The grille now is split into two sections, where the upper one is a very pronounced grid with patterns, and the darkened lower section is packed with driver assistance sensors.

The interior is just an elegant style coming in 2 option colors, yellow and blue, associated with body color.  New seat design that offers impressive lateral support, along with anti-slip material and a slide-reducing center pad in the lower seat cushion.  Knee bolsters work with the performance seats to help keep the driver in place.  Cockpit keeps you in the loop with a new digital gauge cluster and an available 9” center touch-screen display with NissanConnect, including available Door to Door Navigation, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and Remote Access.  Adopted an operation system unique to sports cars, such as a dedicated deep cone-shaped steering and a short-stroke 6MT shift knob (9MT optional).  On the other hand, the instrument panel incorporates modern elements such as a fully digital meter display that uses a 12.3-inch liquid crystal display.

The engine room contains a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine, an estimated zero-to-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, and a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

It has a sport-grade muffler, sport-tuned suspension, clutch-type limited-slip differential, 19-inch RAYS Lightweight Forged-Alloy wheels with 255/40R19 at the front and 285/35R19 at the rear, Bridgestone Potenza S007 performance tires, and larger brakes.

Nissan is very proud of the new Z Model and we do really hope it meets all fans expectations or even overcome them.  Its budget will start around $40,000 for the standard package with some price variation for optional release.
